Priority levels
Open enrollment is ongoing throughout the year and we hold our "formal registration" in late January of each year. Children – registered by close of business on the last day of formal registration – are accepted as wait list spots become available, regardless of the child’s race, color, national origin, or sex. The priority levels that will be used to fill the classes, and the registration form, are listed below.
Level 1 | Students currently enrolled have priority placement in the program.
Level 2 | Children of St. Andrew Methodist Church full-time staff members and children of St. Andrew Preschool staff.
Level 3 | Siblings of returning or exiting 4-year-old and/or Pre-K 5 students whose parents are church members as of the last day of the previous church calendar year.
Level 4 | Siblings of returning or exiting 4-year-old and/or Pre-K 5 students whose parents are not St. Andrew Methodist Church members.
Level 5 | Children of St. Andrew Methodist Church members, as of the last day of the previous church calendar year, who have been on the waiting list since the previous registration.
Level 6 | Children new to St. Andrew Preschool whose parents/guardians are church members as of the last day of the previous calendar year.
Level 7 | New children of parents who have become St. Andrew Methodist Church members since the last day of the previous calendar year.
Level 8 | Children of parents who are not St. Andrew Methodist Church members who have been on the wait list since the previous registration.
Level 9 | Children new to St. Andrew Preschool whose parents are not St. Andrew Methodist Church members.
Everyone must complete and return their registration form to the Director. Registration packets will be available in the St. Andrew Preschool office. There is no advantage in turning in the registration early in the lottery system.
Classes will be filled based on the above priority levels. When there are more children than spaces available, a lottery system will be used to determine placement. Likewise, if more children request a specific day, than there are spaces available, a lottery will be used to determine who is placed in the class.
Parents will be notified if they do NOT get the requested days of the week for their child. Actual class and teacher assignments will be made prior to the start of the school year. St. Andrew Preschool will attempt to place siblings in classes on the same day.
Registration fees are not due until families are notified and offered a position in a class.
