Mission Work

We are called to serve our neighbors both in our community and around the world. When we give our time and things away to those in need, asking nothing in return, we do as Jesus would.

We join in mission so that God can shape us into the people we are called to be.

Mission Trips

Adult Mission Trips

Our Adult Mission Trips have been serving the Rockport/Port Aransas area through Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. Smaller towns outside major urban areas are especially in need of time and resources to restore their communities.

Trips are 3 to 4 days, with a fee to cover transportation and lodging. Work may include demolition, sanitation, or repair. No experience is required!

Contact Hal Kurkowski for more information.

Student Mission Trips

Student Mission Trips have long been a part of who we are as a church. It's much more than hammers and paintbrushes. Students serve communities in great need for several days, with worship programming in the morning and evening, small groups at night, and other activities built in as well.

We also need adult volunteers every year!

Contact Heather Brown for more information. Learn more about all our Student Ministry trips at our Students Page.

Disaster Relief Team

This team of St. Andrew volunteers endeavors to live out the Scripture of James 2:15-17 to be the hands and feet of Christ by partnering with relief and charitable organizations to address needs in our local, national, and worldwide community. Events like Hurricane Harvey, the Fall 2019 tornadoes in Dallas, and ongoing needs such as home building and repair are typical examples of the type of work that this group does.

For those interested and available, St. Andrew has a goal to provide three to four one-day mission opportunities (typically Saturdays) as well as three to four out of town mission opportunities (typically Thursday-Sunday in Texas) throughout the year. Additionally, we are exploring the possibility of providing international mission opportunities.

Experience in construction, trades, or general handyman skills are certainly appreciated, but definitely not a requirement. The only thing that is really needed is a willing and enthusiastic heart.  For more information or to sign up to serve in this ministry, email [email protected].
