WORSHIP | Passover: History, Meaning and Legacy | March 26 | 10:00 -11:30am | Piro Hall
Passover is one of the most significant events in biblical history and a foundation of both Jewish and Christian faiths. Dr. John Witte Moore will provide an overview of Passover as an annual celebration before exploring its origins in ancient Egypt—who the Israelites were, why Passover was necessary, what happened, and how it led to the beginning of the Exodus. The talk will also highlight Passover’s lasting importance, including its connection to the final days of Jesus’ life. Dr. Moore holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and serves as an adjunct professor of Archaeology and Biblical History at Trinity Southwest University. A former oral and maxillofacial surgeon and university professor, he has spent over two decades lecturing and participating in archaeological excavations in Israel and Jordan, bringing historical depth and clarity to biblical events.
